STEP 1: Take Star-Head Screwdriver and Remove Screws from Original Tape.

HowTo: Repair a VHS Tape (8 EASY STEPS)

Let's Review Those Eight Easy Steps:

  1. Take Star-Head Screwdriver and Remove Screws from Original Tape.
  2. Lift off the cover from the new VHS cassette. Make sure the cassette is face-up!
  3. Repeat the same process you did with STEP 2 on the original cassette your are about to repair...
  4. Gently transplant your original cassette tape roll into the new cassette cartridge. IMPORTANT: Remember to place the tape in the exact location and position as the previous tape roll!
  5. Recover your new cassette.
  6. Screw your tape together.
  7. Label your tape with your pen or sharp-tipped marker.
  8. Test to see if your video works!
